Come and hear from five Indonesian PhD students as they discuss the intersection of their research and environmental policy in Indonesia. From the dense rainforests to the vibrant marine ecosystems, this engaging discussion will uncover the latest challenges and solutions toward sustainable environment management. Topics include home-grown sustainability initiatives in the palm oil sector, the fight to protect wild ginger and promote biodiversity, pathways toward inclusive gender and Indigenous policies, and efforts to safeguard Bali’s coastal reefs.

Derek Tan, exhibitions manager at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, will join us as our moderator.

Please stay after the event for an Indonesian iftar dinner, as we celebrate together and wish all friends of CSEAR a blessed Eid al-Fitr / Aidilfitri / Idulfitri / Lebaran / Hari Raya Puasa.
