Natasha Fox

Natasha is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography, with interests in gender and sexuality as they intersect with disasters and natural hazards. She is fluent in Japanese and recently returned home from a year in Miyagi prefecture, Japan, where she lived with her wife and their two baby sons while conducting fieldwork.

Research interests: Natasha’s research is focused on communities in the Tohoku region of Japan that were heavily impacted by the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown, and the ongoing activities of post-disaster LGBT civil society groups in the area.
