Vikas Menghwani

Vikas Menghwani is a Liu Scholar and a doctoral student at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability. His research interests include energy poverty, small-scale energy systems, sustainability transition and the debates at the intersection of climate change, energy and development. Specifically, he is focusing on the use of bioenergy as a potential solution to the problem of energy access in developing countries.

Prior to joining IRES he worked as a consultant in the area of carbon markets, helping renewable energy and energy efficiency project developers across India and Southeast Asia benefit from United Nation’s Clean Development Mechanism. His educational background is in Mechanical Engineering with a Master’s specialization in Energy Technology from Indian Institute of technology, Madras.
