Call for Applications: 2022 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs welcomes applicants interested in applying for the prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

For information on the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, see the Banting website and the UBC Postdoctoral Fellows Office website.

The Banting fellowship is extremely competitive, and typically only one application will be sponsored by SPPGA every year, following an internal adjudication process. In addition to the SPPGA adjudication process, there are further adjudications conducted by a University (UBC) level committee as well as a national committee.

The broad research areas that are of highest interest in our recruitment for this fellowship are currently energy transitions and climate change, inequalities in global health and development, Asia policy, global food security, and ocean governance and fisheries. In addition, outstanding candidates who seek to work on research areas currently of interest to SPPGA core faculty members are also welcome to apply. For a list of SPPGA core faculty members and their research interests, visit our People section.

SPPGA is committed to fostering an accessible, inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment and encourages applications from persons with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC), persons with disabilities, and others who contribute to the further diversification of ideas, perspectives and ways of knowing.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to reach out either to specific core faculty members at SPPGA or to Ian Taylor, Manager, Administration. Please send a detailed CV with a list of academic presentations and publications, as well as a short (no more than one page) summary of your proposed research project.

Application deadline: June 12, 2022.
