MPPGA Student Association Announces New 2021-22 Executive



UBC Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs (MPPGA) students recently appointed their 2021-22 Student Association (SA) executive members, a diverse group of eight students who are taking on various leadership roles. The Student Association also set forth their strategic vision for the 2021-22 academic year. Learn more below:

The student body of the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs appointed the following 2021-22 Student Association (SA) executive members:

  • President Jemimah Ogundele
  • Senior Vice President Oliver Boucher
  • Vice President of Finance Sanat Kanwar
  • Vice President of Internal Affairs Gustavo Villela
  • Vice President of Professional Development Rutu Patel
  • Vice President of Social Affairs Sabah Haque
  • Vice President of Marketing & Communications Mana Murakami
  • Vice President of External Affairs Joseph Flores

The executive team brings a rich and diverse breadth of experience to their positions and are honoured to serve the SPPGA student body.

The executive team is thrilled to share their strategic vision for the 2021-22 academic year:

  • Support mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
  • Provide opportunities for professional development in collaborating with staff & faculty.
  • Provide forum & resources for publishing student content on PubPoli.com.
  • Consult student body to collect questions, concerns, and initiatives about the program through forums such as office hours, surveys, town halls, and the Annual General Meeting.
  • Provide transparent, consistent, and accountable communication about Student Association activities and initiatives, including financial allocation.
  • Ensure a strengthened and engaged transition between executive teams in collaboration with the Alumni Board.

The Executive Team looks forward to representing the student body and collaborating with staff and faculty to implement the 2021-2022 strategic vision.

The Student Association will also publish articles, podcasts, and other media created by MPPGA students on The Pub.
