About

VP Social Events, MPPGA Student Association (2019-2020)

Nabila completed a BA in Law and Society with a minor in Sociology at the University of Calgary, while also serving as an executive at the undergraduate Students’ Union. Throughout her degree, she remained engaged through student clubs, volunteering on university committees and embarking on various trips to expand her professional development. Nabila’s academic background gave her an understanding of the complexities of both local and global social issues, prompting her interest in international relations and social development. Her policy interests involve work on refugee crises, human rights, and the racial inequalities in the criminal justice system. She is also interested in the intersectionality of social inequality, and how cultural, political and economic factors contribute to developmental change. Through the MPPGA program, she is confident that she will gain technical skills that can positively contribute to her work on strengthening international communities. Her ultimate goal is to attend law school with the purpose of becoming a human rights lawyer, alongside reforming international immigration policies.
