OceanCanada is a research collaboration between 15 Canadian universities, non-governmental organizations, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), and others and is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Partnership Grants program. Partners from across Canada will gather together to holistically study the challenges and opportunities facing Canada’s oceans and coastal communities.
Watch Rashid Sumaila, research director of OceanCanada, a professor in the UBC Fisheries Centre, and a Liu Faculty Associate speak about the importance of the ocean in this video.
