Robyn Leuty
About
Robyn Leuty is Assistant Director at the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs. She brings over a decade of experience working in secondary and post-secondary educational environments on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as an educator and administrator.
Robyn’s educational pursuits have led her through three undergraduate and graduate degrees at UBC, as well as certifications in coaching, design thinking, and supplemental instruction. Since leaving her work with Vancouver School Board as a high school teacher in 2009, Robyn has been working at the University of British Columbia (UBC), contributing to the design and delivery of curricula and programs that foster exploration of personal, professional, and academic identities. For the last 6.5 years specifically, Robyn has contributed to the vision and direction for careers at UBC Vancouver, leading the strategic operations and expansion of Workplace Learning programs at UBC Vancouver (including Work Learn and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Undergraduate Research Awards).
Drawn to big ideas and creative processes, Robyn is an experiential educator committed to lifelong learning, and continues to find herself learning (and unlearning!) in her role as a mother to her two young daughters. When her nose isn’t stuck in a book, Robyn can be found playing outdoors with her family, throwing pottery, watching Star Wars, or elbows-deep in weeds in her garden.
