During his undergraduate degree, Zachary had the opportunity to undertake two internships – the first with AID India, based in Chennai, India; and the second with the ELIMU Impact Evaluation Centre, based in Kianyaga, Kenya. These internships provided Zachary with the chance to gain practical experience working in the non-profit sector in an international context. He was also actively involved in student life, as a German Young Ambassador and a Director of the ECOLE Project, a non-profit organization which is a hub for sustainability for the McGill and Montreal communities. Originally from the United Kingdom, and as a fluent speaker of English, French, and German, Zachary enjoys being able to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
Prior to pursuing his MPPGA degree at UBC, Zachary worked at the United Nations within the Financing for Sustainable Development Office, where he learned more about the role of the UN in international development cooperation. Zachary is passionate about policy issues including climate resilient development, and how effective and inclusive policies can help to alleviate poverty. Zachary joined the MPPGA program to deepen his understanding of how public policy can create optimal outcomes for sustainable development in regions across the world.
