Moderated by Prof. Max Cameron (UBC SPPGA, Political Science)
Vancouver’s municipal election is taking place on October 17th. This session brings various municipal candidates to SPPGA for a candid conversation about the issues shaping their campaigns, and the policies and priorities they hope to advance. Students will have a chance to hear directly from candidates about the choices facing local governments, ask questions about the issues they care about, and get a better sense of what political leadership looks like at the municipal level.
Whether you already follow local politics closely or are simply curious about how decisions get made and how people find their way into public life, this is a chance to engage directly with people who are in the middle of it.
