Berdal, Byers and Heinbecker each gives an assessment on the UN Secretary-General’s report on high-level panel on threats, challenges and change.
Mats Berdal is Professor of Security and Development in the Department of War Studies, King’s College, London. From 2000 to 2003 he was Director of Studies at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London.
Michael Byers holds the Canada Research Chair in Global Politics International Law at the University of British Columbia and is Academic Director of the Liu Institute for Global Issues. He is the author of War Law (London, Atlantic Books, 2005).
Paul Heinbecker is Director, International Relations and Communication Program, at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, and Director of the Centre for Global Relations, Governance and Policy at Wilfrid Laurier University. He served as Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations (2000-2003).
