MPPGA Alumni Bios:
Chad Rickaby graduated from the first MPPGA cohort with an interest in Asia Pacific relations and sustainable development. He is currently a strategy and policy consultant working mainly in the fields of technology investment and economic development. Chad is also the co-founder of a start-up NGO in Myanmar and sits on the board of the HiVE Social Impact Society. As a born and raised Vancouverite, in his free time Chad’s favourite hobby is hiking, otherwise you can find him complaining about housing prices and how it’s too rainy to hike over a craft beer.
Zameena Dadani is the Director of Development and Communications, working closely with the CEO of a community-based organization, focusing on internal and external communications, strategic planning, and operations. Her role involves working closely with public sector partners to meet strategic goals that create positive impact for vulnerable communities in the Lower Mainland. Zameena found herself in a leadership position within a multi-generational organization very quickly, and it is through a people-oriented work ethic, collaboration and strategic design thinking that she was able to lead the change management of her organization. As UBC’s first MPPGA student president, Zameena has found a passion for leadership and collaboration. One of her key accomplishments during her two-year tenure as MPPGA student president was creating a constitution and structure for the student body that ensured the voices of all students heard in a coordinated and strategic fashion.
Sonia Takhar graduated from the MPPGA program in 2017. During the program she worked for reputable think-tanks and NGOs, such as the Conference Board of Canada and the Asia Pacific Foundation. Since graduating she has worked as a Policy Analyst at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. There, Sonia advocates on behalf of the GVBOT’s over 5000 Members and the business community at large. Sonia is the principle staff chair of the Regional Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Government, Budget and Finance committee.
