Don’t let trade deals hamper climate progress
Canada must remember that trade deals and climate progress can coexist, says MPPGA faculty David Boyd. Even though Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promises to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the climate agreement made in Paris, Canada continues to negotiate trade deals that allow foreign corporations to challenge environmental policies that harm their investments.
