2022/23 IAR Publication Awards

Institute of Asian Research (IAR) Fellows are UBC graduate students with a deep knowledge of Asia and an interest in advancing research with relevance to policy and global affairs.

Each academic year, IAR celebrates these scholars with publication awards to acknowledge their important research that is made available via publicly accessible outlets that engage contemporary political, social, and economic issues in (and with) Asia. The IAR Publication Award provides grants to students whose works are accepted in high-visiblity and wide-impact Asian publishing outlets including The Diplomat, East Asian Forum, and Foreign Policy. Award winners are granted up to $500 per student-authored publication.
