Starting second term, students have the option to take a new experiential learning course, ASTU 401G. The course will be led by Moura Quayle, Director pro tem of the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs.
The course is an upper-level course that will tackle “societal issues that are heavily laden with politics and value judgments; students should graduate knowing how to identify, navigate and participate in solving these complex issues.”
Instead of reading textbooks to garner information, students will have hands-on experience learning how to solve these wicked problems.
The course was created in collaboration with The Liu Institute, the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), the Office of Regional and International Community Engagement (ORICE), as well as UBC’s Film and Theatre departments.
To learn more on the course and how to apply, visit ORICE’s website here.
