MPPGA and IAR present in Myanmar at the invitation from the Senior Economic Presidential Adviser, Professor Aung-Thun Thet. MPPGA Co-Director/IAR Director Yves Tiberghien and Dr. Kai Ostwald were invited to Myanmar from Aug 5 to Aug 8. The rector of the Yangon University of Economics and its public policy director warmly encouraged cooperative ties between their emerging MPP and UBC’s MPPGA. Yves Tiberghien made a presentation at Yangon University’s International Relations Department. Yangon University also encouraged closer ties between our two institutions. Dr. Tiberghien and Dr. Ostwald gave a lengthy interview on Myanmar’s Sky TV discussing the public policy challenges faced by current leaders globally and in Myanmar. Capstone options were discussed with the Young Entrepreneurs Association and the IFC (World Bank) in Myanmar.
