“Safeguarding Space Security: Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space” conference report now available from the Simons Centre.

Co-organized by The People’s Republic of China, The Russian Federation, the Simons Centre for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Research, and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, with the financial support of The People’s Republic of China and The Simons Foundation, the “Safeguarding Space Security: Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space” conference was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 21-22 March 2005.

This conference focused on the emerging challenges posed by science and the possibilities for cooperation versus competition in outer space, and is the third in a series of conferences to engage the diplomatic community over the long-term and accompany it in its discussions on issues of outer space and space security.
