Wade Davis discusses what can be done to preserve cultures at risk as part of the national Research2Reality initiative. Wade Davis is Professor of Anthropology, Faculty Associate at the Liu Institute for Global Issues, and the BC Leadership Chair in Cultures and Ecosystems at Risk at UBC. Claiming that humanity is at a literal cusp of history, Davis explores the potential for humans to become facilitators of cultural survival during a time of rapid social and spiritual change. Davis discourages thinking in dichotomous terms of traditional vs. modern and emphasizes the agency of humanity to choose the components of their lives and ask ourselves what kind of world we want to move into in the future.
