Eligibility
Emerging scholars who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, who have received a PhD degree within the last five years, and who do not hold full-time salaried positions may apply for this CCK Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Current doctoral candidates who can demonstrate that their degree requirements will be completed before September 2017 may also be considered.
The tenure of the CCK fellowship is for 12 months, beginning in September 2017 or January 2018. One fellowship is available. The successful candidate will use the research fellowship to revise a doctoral dissertation for publication or to start a new research project. The dissertation and the proposed new project must be situated within the social sciences or humanities and address research questions related to Chinese societies, civilizations, cultures, and economies. Candidates will be expected to identify an appropriate faculty member at York University who will act as their postdoctoral supervisor. The fellowship salary is CAD 36,000.

- Cover Letter
- A 1,000 word proposal that outlines the proposed project and how it will be developed; further research to be conducted; and anticipated output(s).
- Curriculum vita
- Name of proposed York University supervisor and short justification (100 words) for this selection.
- Proof of thesis completion (if applicable)
Items to be emailed directly to the York Centre for Asian Research (ycar@yorku.ca) on university letterhead:
- Two letters of recommendation, including one by the dissertation supervisor.

The deadline for the CCK Postdoctoral Research Fellowship applications is Friday, 28 April 2017.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview to be conducted in person and/or by Skype.
