Christina (Wing Gi) Tse
About
Christina (she/her) is pursuing a career in social justice advocacy. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts with double majors in International Relations and Spanish at the University of Toronto. This combination of fields of study allowed Christina to learn about the atrocity of colonialism and its legacy in Latin America. She became passionate about intersectionality and the issue of extractivism. During her time as an undergraduate, Christina gained experience in research relating to global inequality. She participated in producing the BRICS Research Group’s report on the performance of China and South Africa in addressing pandemic-driven health and socioeconomic issues in the African continent. She also worked as a research assistant for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, contributing to projects on women and queer sexualities in early 20th century Latin America. Her main reason to attend the MPPGA program is to further develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a strong researcher in sustainable socioeconomic development strategies. She wishes to make real changes in parts of the world marginalized by the neoliberal model of development.
During her free time, Christina enjoys making crafts and anything related to fashion and art.
