Daniel Beltranena

About

Daniel Beltranena is a graduate from Edmonton, Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in History. During his undergrad at MacEwan University, he passionately studied many eras and regions. Of particular interest was the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Ireland and topics related to government systems, ideologies, colonization, revolution, and armed conflict. Since graduating, he had the great honour to be selected for the highly competitive NATO Field School and Simulation Program. As part of this 7-week experience offered through Simon Fraser University, he travelled through five European countries where he received education from and engaged with top political, military, and academic practitioners within NATO, the EU, national governments, and universities. He also took an active role in reaching objectives and finding consensus in major crisis simulations. While in university, he engaged in the Alberta Mentorship Program which saw the mentoring of high school and university students to help build leadership skills well also volunteering in community, charity, and university service events.

Daniel is greatly honoured to now be a part of the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs Program. He is excited to work alongside many likeminded peers who are interested in policy, global issues, and who also want to create change.
