Key interest areas: Biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration; climate resilience through disaster risk reduction, including mitigation; governance and public policy.
Jen has worked in the BC public service for almost two decades in various operational, planning, policy and leadership positions. These roles spanned emergency response and management through developing and implementing natural resource stewardship policy.
Jen has a broad academic background in ecological research, having completed a BSc, MSc and PhD in topics related to climate change, ecosystem function and forest practices along with postdoctoral research in the US, Australia and the UK.
Jen recently completed an 8-month tenure as an SPPGA Policy Practitioner Fellow, providing practical examples of policy work to the MPPGA program students and furthering her research goals related to conservation, restoration and mitigation policy.
