Kara Gibbs (she/her) is the Strategic Communications Manager for UBC’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs. She leads the communications team on initiatives including marketing, branding, social media, web presence, and overall communications strategy for SPPGA.

Before coming to SPPGA, Kara spent eight years leading the marketing and communication initiatives for the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC, and also served as the Communications Manager for four iterations of Vancouver’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival. She values curiosity, creativity and open ears, and is a firm believer in the power of authentic communications rooted in storytelling.

When she’s not in the office she enjoys writing music, swimming in Kits pool, learning Balinese gamelan and exploring the great outdoors.
