Krista Knechtle

About

Krista (she/her) was raised in the Lower Mainland and has been a settler on the territories of the səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish), and šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ təməxʷ (Musqueam) ever since she first joined UBC as a student in 2010 for her BA in International Relations. After graduating in 2015, Krista joined the UBC Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL), working on community-based co-curricular programming which aimed to connect students, faculty, and community organization and facilitate collaborative social change work. She joined the SPPGA team in August of 2021. Krista thrives on relationships, community building, facilitation, and critical education. She is currently working on her thesis for her MA in Education Studies at UBC, and she loves discussing global affairs, pedagogy, her jungle of houseplants, and her dog Winston.
