About

Nay Yan Oo is the Project Coordinator of the UBC Myanmar Initiative at the Institute of Asian Research. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the program dedicated to supporting democracy and democratization in Myanmar through a focus on political  leadership, policy engagement, and public discourse. Nay Yan manages day-to-day operations, including program administration, scholarship coordination, research support, event planning, and stakeholder engagement. He collaborates closely with UBC faculty, students, and external partners to implement strategic work plans, organize impactful events, and build meaningful partnerships. Additionally, Nay Yan contributes to fundraising efforts and ensures effective communication to amplify the initiative’s mission and impact. His work reflects a deep commitment to fostering development and democratic values in Myanmar through academic engagement and policy-oriented activities.
