Dr. Nisha Malhotra has 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring at UBC.

Dr. Malhotra also heads the data analysis team at the Birthplace Lab at the faculty of medicine, UBC, where her recent research projects examine inequities in maternity care in the United States and Canada. During her career as an inter-disciplinary researcher, Nisha Malhotra has focused on development, gender, and global health issues.

Dr. Nisha Malhotra earned her master’s degree at the Delhi School of Economics (DSE) and her doctorate at the University of Maryland. Previously, she held a tenured faculty position at the Vancouver School of Economics, UBC and has also worked at the World Bank, DC, and the Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations.
