Song Fu

MPPGA Student, Class of 2024

About

Song Fu was born and raised in Wuhan, China. He went to the United States for college and graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in philosophy and international and global studies. After, Song came back to China and later became an employee of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, working for the Beijing office of Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada. It was also at this time that he began to witness the changing tide of global order moving in full force in close vicinity.

A question started to form in Song’s mind: If the great powers of the world were stuck in a rivalry, then how should humanity brace for the future global crises? In order to answer this question, he joined the MPPGA program with the hope that through rigorous training, he could better understand this increasingly complex landscape. Song is interested in the stream of Global Governance and Security with a focus on the Asia Pacific. Specifically, he wants to learn more about the foreign policies and practices that would allow the region to avoid devastating conflicts and promote deep cooperation between nations.
