Timothy Linsell
About
Tim is a firm believer in the potential of collaborative effort in the face of shared challenges. Originally from the UK, Tim completed his bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Southampton, where he specialized in studying the role of conscripted German soldiers on the Eastern Front in the Holocaust. After graduating he left the UK to gain a broader palette of experience. Over the last few years, he has sailed around the globe as captain on board S/Y Argo; a 112ft traditionally rigged sailing vessel, conducting study abroad and sail training programs for groups of undergraduate students over a semester. And most recently he has worked as an Arctic expedition manager in the Svalbard archipelago.
After several years of witnessing the depth and pervasiveness of the anthropogenic pressures in some of the most remote locales of our planet, Tim is hugely excited to bolster his practical experience with the knowledge and skills to influence policy surrounding resources, energy, and sustainability. He is particularly interested in the nexus of climate policy and sustainable development and drawing on the skills and knowledge of diverse groups to find innovative ways to cooperate in collectively responding to the climate crisis.
