About

Tong is a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs student at the University of British Columbia. Tong is originally from China, and he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2020. In both his personal and academic life, he is passionate about issues related to gender equality and feminist studies. During his last year of undergrad, he got a chance to intern at Girl Up—an initiative of the United Nations Foundation—which gave him a better understanding of gender equality and gender-based violence on a global scale. By joining the MPPGA program, Tong is building fundamental knowledge and policy skills.
