Paid Work Terms During the Program
We help facilitate and secure a wide range of paid, part- and full-time employment opportunities during and after your degree, including the MPPGA Co-op Program, UBC Sustainability Scholars program, UBC Work Learn program, and various research assistant positions. Most MPPGA students work full-time in a policy-relevant role during the summer between their first and second years.
MPPGA Co-op Program
The MPPGA Co-op Program, managed by UBC Arts-Co-op, offers meaningful full-time work experience that complements your classroom learning. Open to both domestic and international students to apply in the fall of year one, the program allows you to gain paid positions in government, non-profit, and private sectors, either during the summer following your first year or starting in September of your second year.

UBC Sustainability Scholars Program
Managed by the UBC Sustainability Hub, the Sustainability Scholars Program pairs graduate students with on- and off-campus partners for paid internships focused on applied research projects. Open to all full-time UBC graduate students, this program provides the chance to work under the guidance of a mentor on projects that advance sustainability goals.
UBC Work Learn Program
The UBC Work Learn program offers meaningful on- and off-campus work experience, allowing students to develop professional skills while studying. Gain experience, expand your network, and learn from mentors through part-time work.
