2025 InnovEAT: Sustainable Agri-Food Solutions to Challenges of Climate Change

We are excited to announce that the application for the 2025 InnovEAT: Sustainable Agri-Food Solutions to Challenges of Climate Change is now open. This 1.5-day hackathon will bring together students from all CARE partner institutions to the University of Guelph and empower them to innovate sustainable, scalable, and equitable solutions in the food system through interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world impact.

As a student, you will be placed on a team and work with a community partner during the event then remotely as a team over the rest of the fall semester. Each team will stay connected online and continue making progress together towards solving this climate change challenge.

Note: Travel and shared accommodation costs will be covered for students from Sciences Po, UBC, and UT.  Students receive a stipend for participating in the hackathon and remote group work for the remainder of the fall semester.

When is it?

  • October 2nd-3rd: Innovation Hackathon is a 1.5-day event
  • October 4th: A 1-day field experience (location TBD)

Who is eligible?

  • All students enrolled in a master’s program related to CARE themes at one of the four CARE partner institutions in Fall 2025
  • Demonstrated experience in teamwork and dedication to finding solutions to identified challenges in the food and agriculture sector
