SPPGA Assistant Professor Dr. Veena Sriram was among the recipients of the 2022 Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Development Grants for the project Heroes on Strike: A Mixed Methods Investigation of Health Worker Protests in the COVID-19 Era.
This project will be undertaken alongside co-applicants Sorcha Brophy (Columbia University Irving Medical Center) and Arima Mishra (Azim Premji Foundation), as well as collaborators Naomi Hossain (American University), Roudabeh Kishi (ACLED) and Benjamin Rouffy-Ly (World Health Organization).
SSHRC grants support research in its initial stages, enabling the development of new research questions, as well as experimentation with new methods, theoretical approaches and/or ideas. Over $35 million was awarded to fund 585 research projects from 71 Canadian institutions.
