The Second Carleton Graduate Student Conference on Research on China will be held on February 23-24, 2017 at Carleton University in Ottawa.
This conference offers graduate students broadly interested in the study of China an opportunity to gather in the nation’s capital, present and receive feedback on their research from a scholarly audience, and engage in professional development and networking.
The conference is intended for PhD and advanced MA students who share an interest in Chinese studies from the following disciplines: Political Science, Economics, Sociology, International Relations or Business. Proposals from other social science disciplines will also be considered.
Students whose papers are accepted will be expected to participate in all conference activities and submit their final papers no later than 10 days prior to the beginning of the conference. Each presenter will have approximately 12 minutes to present his or her paper. The maximum length for a paper is 8000 words. There is no conference registration fee. Limited financial support is available towards transportation and accommodation costs of presenters.
Two prizes, one for the best Ph D paper/presentation and the other for the best MA paper/presentation, will be awarded by the Confucius Institute of Carleton University and the China Scholarship Council.
