He earned a BA (Hons) in Political Science with International Relations from UBC in 1998. He went on to complete an MA in Political Science at SFU in 2000, followed by an MBA in Global Asset and Wealth Management from SFU in 2004.

His professional experience encompasses a variety of roles, including work in post-secondary teaching, operations management, policy analysis, and financial services. He has taught business and management courses at several local universities and colleges, such as Simon Fraser University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and City University of Seattle.

The courses he has instructed span a range of subjects, including organizational behavior, project management, human resources, operations and supply chain management, international trade research, leadership, global business strategies, and the global business environment.

He has dedicated his time to mentoring, offering guidance to MBA and MSc candidates at SFU’s Beedie School of Business, as well as to BCom candidates at UBC Sauder’s Commerce Undergraduate Society.

His professional background extends to roles within government and public sector institutions. He has contributed to organizations such as the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, the Provincial Court of BC, the Legislative Assembly of BC, and the BC Securities Commission. His involvement in Canadian politics spans municipal, provincial, and federal levels. He has also held positions within the financial services sector, working at RBC, CIBC, and Scotiabank.

Currently, he serves on the board of the Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre. Additionally, he has provided his insights on the boards of the Tomoe Arts Society, which promotes Japanese arts and classical dance, the Vancouver Mokuyokai Society, dedicated to enhancing Japan-Canada relations, and the Alliance Française Vancouver.

Proficient in multiple languages, he is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and possesses a beginner’s understanding of Japanese and Filipino.

His diverse array of interests includes history, film, philosophy, music, and dance. Notably, he is actively engaged in hip-hop dance classes.
