This lecture will take a direct and rational perspective on artist Gu Xiong and his practice: he was passionate and restless in the 1980s; in the 1990s, his thoughts turned to immigration and identity; around 2000, he entered into dialogues and drew comparisons in response to a new cultural identity; and over the past decade, he has turned his attention to the issue of international migrant workers.
